By Madeleine Rose Jones
Snowy Fictions is the passion project from Madeleine Rose Jones. It's where she advocates for freedom of speech, discusses literature and muses about philosophy and history.
Madeleine Rose Jones has numerous interests in history, but these are the crucial ones:
The medieval fascinates me. Whether we discuss the intellectual history of Paris, France or Dante's The Divine Comedy, the medieval period is fascinating. I'm particularly interested in medieval cartography, religion, food, legends, and Gothic stained glass.
Especially Russian history and the Slavic world. I'm also keen on French and German history, particularly sources that date from the medieval period.
I'm particularly interested in World War I & II, the French and Russian Revolution, the Roman and Byzantium Empires, the Chinese Cultural Revolution and the current geopolitical tensions in East and Central Asia with Russia.
